My Cultural Bag
By: Peter V [LA 3-4]

One of the first and yet one of the most important things in my life is my Bible. My bible plays a big part in my life. Our family is a very religious family and so we go to church every Sunday to listen to the sermon. Once we left church, we go and get something scrumptious to eat. Then, we go home and have another bible study at night and as we sit down we turn on the fireplace and watch as if the fire’s heart bursted and spewed forth a red-hot rainbow of color. Yellow, orange, and purple flames lick ravenously at the defenseless logs. I smell the wood burning, I felt like I was around the campfire roasting marshmallows. Then we would all have some vanilla ice cream. When I put the ice cream in my mouth, I could taste the vanilla is was if my taste buds got glutted with ice cold, chilling, breathtaking snow that was dissolving in my mouth. It was a superb night.

Lacrosse is also my favorite sports I try so hard at it and yet I am tremendously good it. My family supports me every time I step onto that feild. When we start the game, I look at the person that am suppose to guard . He gives me a heinous glare as if he thinks that he can beat me.I grip my ice, cold, metallic shaft. I can taste the sweat dripping into my mouth. I hear the roar of the crowd screeching our team name and, . I here the referee’s whistle, and its as if the whole world has stopped and then, the game starts. After the game, my family tells me how good I did even though I may not have of had my best game and we head home and have a great rest of the day. Mostly after Lacrosse games, my dad makes us some burgers. As he is grilling the big, juicy, plump burger, you can smell the tantalizing aroma around the whole neighborhood. Then we all sit down to a breath taking meal. I am blessed and thankful to have my family around to support me in every aspect in my life. If I didn’t have them then I don’t know what I would do.

Report cards are very important to me and my family. To some kids its just a grade and that they don’t care that they got a C on their test but you can always tell that that is a blatant lie. Grades aren’t just numbers on a piece of paper or a reason to go celebrate with some icecream when you get a good grade. Now don’t get me wrong, celebrating because you got a good grade is a time to go celebrate. But my point is that grades will determine where you will go to collage, what kind of job you get, and determine the rest of your life. I remember that I use to complain to my mom that I didn’t want to study for the test and that it was easy. But she said “ Peter you can do whatever you want but every test counts and it will determine the rest of your future.” That’s When I really started studying and really tried to get A’s on tests. Before that I could practically feel my heart beat buffeting against my chest but now that doesn’t happen anymore!

Ever year we go out with our closest friends and family members and we go get a giant collasall Christmas tree. When we found the perfect one, we have some on chop down the tree and we tie it tightly to the car and speed on home. Thank goodness that the tree was still intact after the car ride home but nows the hard part. It takes about 2 hours to put up the whole tree! It usually take atleast a week to put up the lights and ortaments and ribbon all on the tree. One year, my 25 pound cat jumped onto the tree and made the whole tree buffet against the ground. Luckily this year we have a wire to hold up the tree
This year. My sister and I got very ecstatic because our favorite part is getting to put up the choo-choo train. I love Christmas and I cant wait for the next one!!
